Description

Born in Beirut in 1995, Marc Guiragossian grew up in an artistic family that profoundly shaped his creative path. At age ten, he moved with his family to Dresden, Germany, where exposure to European masters such as Rubens, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Dürer, Turner, and Botticelli enriched his artistic vocabulary.

Marc held his first solo exhibition in 2016 at Mark Hachem Gallery in Beirut, which was met with critical success. He later relocated to Berlin, establishing a studio there while also working in London, positioning himself within the international art scene.

His paintings are primarily figurative portraits, marked by dominant, clashing colors, overlapping linear forms, and unified backgrounds. Though his technique is spontaneous and impulsive, the aggressive brushstrokes and intense colors achieve a striking harmony, conveying both power and vulnerability.

Marc views painting as a dialogue between modernity and tradition, engaging with art history not as a linear progression but as an ongoing exchange across time. His works often recall the energy of the Fauvists, such as Henri Matisse and André Derain, while remaining deeply personal and contemporary.
